Czech Golden Speckled Hen

Our chickens belong to the original breed - the Czech Golden Speckled Hen. They are hardy, temperamental, and very vigilant laying hens with distinctive golden feathers and leaf-shaped combs. Roosters also have richly colored tail feathers.

One speckled hen can lay up to 190 eggs per year, while current laying breeds can produce up to 300.

Although the chickens have their own coop, they also like to use the goat shed for roosting at night. During the day, they move freely throughout the entire area and fully utilize their “royal run.”

The domestication of chickens in Europe is documented during the Iron Age. We have been breeding them in the Land of the Celts since 2016.

We ask that you treat the chickens with respect: don’t chase them, don’t feed them, and most importantly, give them peace - they will be happy to look at you themselves.
