What Did Our Ancestors Eat?

We can reconstruct the diet of our ancestors thanks to findings of seeds, fruits, and other parts of plants from that time, as well as by examining animal bones that have been found. Sometimes charred loaves of bread are discovered, other times mineralized food remains in ceramic or metal vessels. Modern science can analyze these and determine whether they were, for example, grain porridge or beer. Rarely, ancient human excrement is also found, allowing us to discover not only what our ancestors ate, but also whether and what kind of intestinal parasites they suffered from.
